Joyce John

Founder

Joyce John was the co-founder and Managing Director of RUBY Software. Joyce had over two decades of industry experience in Information Technology and Internet services. Armed with an engineering degree in Computer Science from Mysore, India and a Masters in Software Engineering from National University, Singapore, Joyce started his career with Tata Elxsi. He also served Creative Technology in Singapore and Brunswick, working initially in their Singapore office before becoming Director – IT and Strategic Businesses based out of their New Zealand office.
In 2007 Joyce joined the business process outsourcing major RevenueMed (India) and started building a captive development team for them. He built an elite Ruby on Rails development team which grew by leaps and bounds, boosting the revenues of the parent company. In 2011, the captive division was spun out into a separate company under the brand Ruby Software. It continues to enjoy successes.
An entrepreneur at heart, Joyce was passionate about building and mentoring high-performance teams. He was the guiding spirit behind Helixense which was started in 2001 and was engaged in developing an innovative platform for Bio-informatics. The idea of the endeavour is to use human genome database and other publicly available data to provide a software platform for research organizations that will enable them to quickly build bio-informatics applications. In his spare time, Joyce loved to play tennis and badminton. His best stress-buster though was listening to music at his home theatre hideout.
